Good guys
Rufus Rufus
The main character in our story; a young noop who enjoys dreaming a little too much. His tendency to daydream instead of working gets him fired from many part-time jobs, until he finds a job that's perfect for him – the Dreammaker's assistant. Rufus is impulsive and a little clumsy, but very brave in times of trouble. He would protect the Dreamstone with his life.

Amberley Amberley
Rufus's best friend. When we first meet Amberley, she's working as a delivery girl for the candle-maker Mr Wacks, but she eventually joins Rufus in working for the Dreammaker. Much more level-headed than Rufus, Amberley has a sensible solution to many problems. She's also fearless in the face of danger, and is not averse to giving enemies a good kicking.

The Dreammaker The Dreammaker
A powerful wizard who is said to have been old when the stars were still young. Grand Highest of the mystical Council of Dreammakers, and the one responsible for Zordrak's banishment. The Dreammaker is also rather eccentric – for instance, he tends to float everywhere instead of walking, because it's "easier on the feet". His absent-mindedness belies an incredible wisdom.

Albert Albert
The Dreammaker's watch dog-fish. He appeared in a dream one night, and the Dreammaker liked him so much that he brought him to life. Now he's the Dreammaker's constant companion, protecting the castle and the Dreamstone from enemy attack.

Pildit Pildit VIII
The leader of the wuts and an old friend of the Dreammaker. Pildit leads his people in protecting the outskirts of the Land of Dreams from attacks by Zordrak.

Wildit
Pildit's grandmother, a spritely old wut who loves performing tricks on her flying leaf. Her energy puts many younger wuts to shame!

Spildit
Pildit's niece, a cute little girl wut who has an incredible knack for causing trouble. She's determined to be an ace leaf-flyer.

Mr Blossom
An elderly wut who tends the Dreammaker's beautiful garden. Mr Blossom has no time for silliness, and is always grumbling about people messing up his lawn and acting the fool.
