What's new on this site | What's new at Cosgrove Hall 12/07/05 Added an updated link to the new Carrotty Kid website. I have also been told by the magic pixies that live in my head that Fifi and the Flowertots, a show made for Chapman Productions (Keith Chapman being the creator of Bob the Builder) is showing every day on Channel 5 at 8am. Also, Cosgrove Hall's first series of the revamped Postman Pat apparently got a total of 25 million viewers (combined) when it was shown, which is definitely not to be sneezed at. Nice one chaps. 17/04/05 Keen viewers will note that three Cosgrove Hall shows - Dangermouse, Wind in the Willows and Jamie and the Magic Torch - featured in Channel 4's "100 Greatest Cartoons", at numbers 24, 69 and 87 respectively. Go to the official Channel 4 website for a full list of nominees and winners. 23/05/04 Added a Carrotty Kid link to the gallery page. 09/05/04 News on Cosgrove Hall's latest series - a preschool thingy called The Wumblers, that looks, well...er...the official website does it more justice than I can here. It's also worth trotting over to the official Cosgrove Hall site for other news about projects in development. I await "The Carrotty Kid" with bated breath... 07/12/03 The Dr Who webcast, Scream of the Shalka, is now being updated every week at the BBC Cult website. Go watch it, it's really cool. Look, I scanned a picture of the Doctor and the TARDIS from the front of a graphic design magazine, to show you how good he looks. Surely you love that character design! You must! Also, Albie was up for a Children's BAFTA this year. Did he win? Are you ready?
22/09/03 Cosgrove Hall have been chosen by the almighty powers that be (beecee) to create some Dr Who-based Flash animations. Woo! Indifferent as I am to any non-Tom Baker Doctor, this is exciting news. Go to the Official Cosgrove Hall site to learn more. 06/05/03 Lately, CH have been dabbling more in Flash, the Internet nerds' format of choice (TM). In fact, they've been producing a rather special animated radio play-type thing (I believe the proper term is Webcast, if we're going to be pedantic) called Ghosts of Albion, in conjunction with the BBC. There's no point in me going into too much detail about it here, as you can read more in the News section of the official Cosgrove Hall Website. Suffice to say, it features supernatural shennanigans and Victorians – the most kick-ass of all historical figures. The only thing missing off Cosgrove Hall's site is a link to the damn thing: so here's one! Go, enjoy! BBC - Cult - Ghosts of Albion 21/02/03 Cosgrove Hall are reviving kiddies' favourite Postman Pat in the near future (I guess they must be developing a reputation by now for revivals, what with Andy Pandy, BIll & Ben and Noddy...). Go to the C21Media website for more info. Apparently, there's also going to be a spin-off series about Pat's famous black and white cat, Jess. Woo! I like cats, me. 31/12/02 Rumours are rife that Cosgrove Hall have been signed up to animate pop tart trio Atomic Kitten in their very own show, "The Kittens". Evidently, the same thing was set to happen with the Spice Girls a while ago, until it became clear that they were just a rapidly passing fad. No danger of that with the Kittens, then (ahem)... 07/12/02 No wins at the BAFTAs. Boo! Better luck next year. 18/11/02 Cosgrove Hall are currently up to their sweaty dewlaps in awards; first off, we have the rather exciting news of Albie scooping 1st prize for Best Animated Television Programme at the Chicago Children’s International Film Festival, described by the studio's official site as "Cannes for kids". Oooo! Not only that, we also have Andy Pandy up for "Best Preschool Series" at the Children's BAFTAs later this month. Let's keep everything crossed for them, eh? 06/09/02 Cosgrove Hall's official Inbreds site is now up, with pics and sounds and lots of bodily functions. WARNING: Not for kiddies. I mean it!! 30/08/02 Get ready for Engie Benjy! The little engineer with the freaky hair and the hilariously-named dog hits your screens on CITV on Wednesday, September 4th at 3.25. If you'd like to find out more, check out the BBC News Web site. OK, it's mostly about Ant and Dec (who do the voices), but don't let that put you off. 31/07/02 The boys (and girls, probably) at Cosgrove Hall Digital have just produced a natty little cartoon for the Manchester United Web site. It's called The Oddkinsons, and it seems to involve a family of Man U supporters in their native environment. Even though it's about Bloody Football, you should definitely nip over to the Manchester United Web site to take a look. You'll need to have Macromedia's Flash Player installed. 18/06/02 Hurray! Albie is now on TV! You can catch him at 3.30 on Tuesdays on Children's ITV. I missed today's episode, but expect this show to be added to the Shows page as soon as I can catch it on tape. 30/05/02 Cosgrove Hall's official site is finally alive! It looks great and, even though it doesn't have much content yet, the current features are corkers. You can find obscure facts and figures about any Cosgrove Hall show, learn more about the company and the awards it's won, and get the very latest news. Looks like CHAMB is finally being rendered obsolete, and after less than six months, too... boo hoo... - A big ball (snurk) was held in Manchester City Hall on May 14th to celebrate 25 years of Cosgrove Hall. You can follow a link in the Lumber Room to see some photos from this event. 17/03/02 Cosgrove Hall's Albie has been voted Best Children's Series at the British Animation Awards! Hooray! Now if someone could just get round to showing it on TV, we could see what the fuss was about... - Cosgrove Hall's new production of ancient kids' favourite Andy Pandy debuts on the BBC's cable-only kids' channel CBeebies on March 25th, so watch out for that. 28/02/02 More on the White Wonder; apparently Dangermouse *is* coming back, but not in 3D. The plot thickens, eh? 27/02/02 A couple of Cosgrove Hall-related features, the short animation "Blink" and a music video for the song "Dying Slowly" by Tindersticks, are included in the public choice programme of the British Animation Awards. Winners are announced on the 15th March. Check out the British Animation Awards Web site for more information. 21/02/02 I already reported this in the Forum, but I'll repeat it here a live-action movie of Jamie and the Magic Torch is in the planning stages! Unbelievable! Well, just in case you *don't* believe me, and who can blame you, check out the Guardian and BBC Web sites for confirmation! - I should have mentioned this before, but I forgot (durr). Some Cosgrove Hall material is featured in the animation gallery of the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford. Many other animation studios and animators also feature too. 13/02/02 More news on 3D Dangermouse. Apparently, a movie followed by a video game (no indication of format at present) are planned. Penfold will return with a new voice actor (boo!!). I hope to have a transcript of a very interesting article about Dangermouse and Cosgrove Hall Digital from 3D World magazine up on the site before the beginning of next week, so keep watching this page as if your very existence depended on it. - Cosgrove Hall Digital have a very cute looking show for wee kiddies called "Wobbly Horse" in the pipeline. 01/02/02 It's been officially confirmed that Cosgrove Hall are (probably) bringing Dangermouse back in 3D form. Whoa! Toonhound has the info you're salivating to hear, as well as a pic of brand new Dangermouse beanie toys! No news yet as to whether it'll be an IMAX special, or a TV series; no news either as to how they plan to resurrect Terry Scott from the dead, or whether they'll just get someone else to do Penfold's voice. Place bets now... 24/01/02 Cosgrove Hall are preparing to enter the IMAX era with a film specially made for this format. Not much news on that yet, but watch this space.
20/01/02 Cosgrove Hall are currently working on a show for young adults called The Inbreds, seemingly about a bunch of braindead hillbillies. The official site should be available for you to look at soon.
